Waiata Reo Māori Audience Survey
APRA AMCOS (APRA) and Te Māngai Pāho commissioned KPMG New Zealand (KPMG) to understand how people experience waiata reo Māori or 'waiata' (songs written in te reo Māori), and whether it is contributing to awareness, engagement, and the visibility of reo Māori over time.
Given the significant increase of waiata Māori in recent years, APRA AMCOS and Te Māngai Pāho are keen to understand how people experience waiata reo Māori and whether it is contributing to awareness, engagement, and the visibility of te reo Māori over time.
Over the past six years, APRA AMCOS and Te Māngai Pāho have worked with musicians and artists to release over 300 waiata Māori. This includes initiatives such as Waiata Anthems, Aotearoa Songbook, and singles such as Six60s ‘Pepeha’.
Your response helps us to understand the impact of this mahi and should take around 5-7 minutes to complete.
