Diverse content for diverse audiences

Te Māngai Pāho provides contestable, ngā tūāpapa rerekē funding for producers and creators to create a diverse range of Māori content. Mixed-platform is our way of describing the wide variety of kaupapa we fund across linear television, online and digital platforms, web series, and apps. Previously described as ‘diverse content’, all mixed-platform initiatives support Māori language and culture outcomes.

This also means we fund based on language content, rather than platform: we call this ‘platform agnostic’. Our two language categories are receptive and fluent. Te Māngai Pāho platform agnostic shift allows for increased focus on impact measurement. We work with platforms and creators to refine and enhance our collective ability to plan for, deliver, and measure language impacts.
Because the online landscape is changing so rapidly, Te Māngai Pāho regularly reviews audience habits, and adjusts priorities accordingly. Potential kaitono should familiarise themselves with our latest Content Strategy before applying.
